Ranee Management Limited is just one arm of a rental empire belonging to the Zolty family, which extends beyond the over 7,500 units owned by Ranee itself. Buildings like the Goodwood Park Apartments in East York, where organized tenants in the Goodwood Tenants Union successfully blocked an eviction by the sheriff in September, are managed by Ranee but owned by other companies belonging to the family. The Zolty family also owns Rykka Care Centres, which operates three of the long-term care homes facing intense scrutiny and human rights complaints after last year's military investigation revealed terrible conditions and high rates of death from COVID. In fact, Rykka Care Centres has the second highest LTC death rate in all of Ontario.
